Over the years we have actively chosen to stay small & to cap the number of jobs we take on each week & each year in order to ensure we offer the best service we can; in terms of quality of food & service & our ability to tailor things to each client. We feel if we grew bigger we would loose much of this.

This means that we are lucky enough to have a good quality of life with our little family in the beautiful Brecon Beacons & that we retain our job satisfaction & passion which we hope is reflected in what Purple Carrot offers its clients.

As a result we spend almost no money on advertising & none at all on referrals or the awards industry; as sadly we have to turn away a lot of Weddings each year, & we are lucky enough to be able to rely almost solely upon word of mouth recommendations or people stumbling across us!

We don’t pay any fees or commissions to be on any venues’ suppliers’ lists or to be their preferred caterers - people recommend us because they like us not because we’ve paid them! Likewise here is a list of Wedding & foodie suppliers & venues that we have worked with & we think genuinely offer an awesome service or location!

Our Favourite Venues

An awesome venue: A lovely Grade II listed barn conversion alongside cottages & grounds with stunning views of the Beacons. A perfect setting for you to individualise as much or as little as you want whilst also offering friendly, very professional & helpful support throughout from their A* team! From a catering point of view it has a fully equipped ex-restaurant kitchen. A firm favourite!!

Grade II * listed country estate located 4 miles from Usk, Monmouthshire, sitting within 120 acres of beautiful countryside. A lovely setting, professionally run!

This historic fortified Norman Priory has what has been described as "The best-preserved example of a Norman priory church in South Wales". A superb place for a Marquee Wedding.

Home of the Green Man festival & a very beautiful spot for your DIY Marquee or Tipi wedding - indeed perfect for a Festival Wedding!

This magnificent Grade I listed home lies on the banks of the River Usk, in the middle of a 2000 acre working rural estate. The house is the centrepiece to a remarkable group of buildings. Around the house lies extensive grounds, sweeping lawns, the old victorian rose & walled gardens, stables & barns, riverside & woodland walks & the Green Man Maze. Run by the lovely Vina & Gavin this is a spectacular beautiful setting.

A huge bright & airy space on a working family farm with phenomenal views across the valley! Gorgeously rustic & perfect for putting your own stamp on this fab barn with very flexible and helpful owners!

Exciting new local Venue with converted barn & lovely grounds & courtyard!

Built in 1852, this Grade I listed house sits within 10 acres of private gardens & woodlands, offering the perfect backdrop for a wedding. Widely regarded as one of the finest examples of a country house built during the Gothic Revival movement of the 19th century. An impressive spot for a Marquee Wedding!

An exceptionally romantic setting for your civil wedding or partnership ceremony in a restored medieval courtyard house. Couples often then have their Canapés reception in the Rose Garden followed by their Wedding Breakfast in a Tipi/ Yurt/Marquee in the neighbouring farmers field. A truly unique day!
